I want to be a part of it……

Last Sunday, I was walking the streets of East Harlem, pulling a suitcase behind me. As I pushed my way through the crowds of 116th street, with the rain falling fast, I thought, “It’s amazing how fast things can change….”

Monday will mark the three weeks that I have been in New York City. Who knew that so much could happen in such a short period of time. I’ve gone through any kind of emotion possible, and dealt with a lot of changes. However, I feel so thankful that I made this decision. I know now that I was meant to come here, and I can’t ignore the kindness that NYC (and God) have shown me. It has been an amazing spiritual journey. Good things can happen when let go and take a risk every once in awhile. Here is a brief summary of what has happened:

1. Moved to Brooklyn

2. Went to the beach

3. Found a job

4. Moved out of Brooklyn

5. Moved to East Harlem

6. Started my job

7. Looking for an apartment

I am enjoying my first official weekend of the job world. It is so wonderful to experience this kind of life after dealing with retail for so long. I’m currently working at Tipping Point Partners in Tribeca as their Administrative Assistant/Receptionist. So far, so good, and I think that the people here are wonderful! I found the job in three days….which is not typical….but I’m obviously a very lucky person in that aspect!  Now, I just need to find a place to live. As I have heard, finding an apartment in New York is very difficult. What I heard was right. All I can do is take my time, do my research, and eventually find the place that I love. I will keep you posted. All I can say for now is, “I’m living the good life.”
