Losing my way…in Tumblr.
I feel like this blog has lost some of it’s old momentum, and as a result, has become a bit self indulgent. Don’t get my wrong, anyone who writes a blog is going to be somewhat self-focused with their material. We are indeed writing about me, myself, and I…..let’s not kid ourselves here. However, I was looking through some of my past entries, and I realized that I used to write some pretty funny stories. I would always run into weird people at airports, bars, etc. Now, I live in one of the best interesting cities in the world, and all I do is self-reflect about my struggles. I have so many great stories to tell!
From now on, we are going back to the stories. I’m still going to write reviews, personal entries, and post some great instagram photos….but this site should also be about the excitement that can come from unexpected encounters. That’s one of my favorite things about life. You never know when someone is going to change the entire outlook of your day, whether it’s positive or negative. Here we go:
My dear friend Amanda and I were walking along Eastern Parkway towards the Brooklyn Museum, and out of the corner of my eye, I saw a man standing outside of his car. The car was decorated with the words, “The rent is TOO DAMN HIGH!” That’s right, I met Jimmy McMillan:

Your eyes aren’t deceiving you. He has an action figure…of himself. Amanda was all about meeting him, but I was a bit hesitant. I also worry about bugging people, even D-list celebrities like him. I’m glad that we did it though, because it was a fun memory. All I can remember was music blaring out of this car while he said, “Come over here Baby Gurl, you can take a picture. Let’s make sure the doll is in the shot!!”
Big shocker, but he seemed a bit crazy.
